3 Things We Believe About Learning Korean

Learning Korean isn’t just about memorizing vocabulary or getting the right answer. At Delicious Korean, we think a lot about what actually helps learners keep going, understand more, and enjoy using Korean. These are three principles that guide the way we create our lessons, games, videos, card posts, and other learning content. [1. Korean Should Be Fun] Learning a language should give you moments that feel rewarding. Maybe you try speaking even if your Korean isn’t perfect. Maybe you understand something in a video that you couldn’t understand before. Or maybe you have a real conversation in Korean and realize, “Wow, I can actually do this.” Those moments matter to us. [2. What Learners Really Need] We start with the learner. What Korean do people actually use? Where do learners often get stuck? What do you genuinely want to be able to say? From there, the format can be anything. It might become a game, a card post, a video, a song, or something completely different. We keep experimenting because the format itself isn’t the goal. Finding a way that genuinely helps you learn is. [3. Not Too Easy. Not Too Hard.] We care a lot about Comprehensible Input. That means creating Korean you can understand at your current level, while still giving you something new to notice and learn. You don’t need to understand every single word. Instead, we want you to stay curious, notice patterns, make guesses, and build your understanding step by step. That’s why we often say: Stay curious. Be a detective! Over time, you may be surprised by how much Korean you can understand and use.
