Korean Taxi — learn directions by driving

Korean Direction is a free 3D browser game for learning Korean direction words. You drive a taxi and pick up riders, but the only controls are Korean buttons: 앞 (forward), 뒤 (back), 왼쪽 (left), 오른쪽 (right), plus 빠르게 (faster) and 느리게 (slower). Each rider names their destination in Korean, so you learn the words by using them rather than by translating.

What you practice

• The four direction words 앞, 뒤, 왼쪽, 오른쪽 until they are automatic
• Speed words 빠르게 and 느리게
• Everyday place names such as 병원 (hospital), 카페 (cafe), 호텔 (hotel) and 쇼핑몰 (shopping mall)
• Real Korean landmarks in the right places: 경복궁, 남산타워, 서울역, 강남역, 코엑스 in Seoul and 한라산, 성산일출봉, 협재해변 on Jeju Island

Four maps

Begin in a small practice town, move on to DK TOWN, then drive around Seoul and finally Jeju Island. Native Korean audio, English labels and the map can each be switched on or off, so you can start with help and remove it as you improve.
